And I’m loving it.

The girls & I are rocking out all day, every day. Usually the Hubs comes home from work to find the girls coloring on the floor, me cooking in the kitchen, and our iPod speakers blaring.

Even better? The musical-ness in our house has inspired a whole lot of dance parties.

1. Red by Taylor Swift.

Why I love it: Catchy and so, so heartfelt. Also? I think the lyrics are a little bit brilliant. And my children adore Taylor Swift at the moment, so we have Ms. Swift to thank for getting us off of the Finding Nemo the Musical train at long, long last.

That is called winning, my friends.

2. Club Can’t Handle Me by Flo Rida.

Why I love it: This song is pure magic. It calms down both kiddos in an instant {it even worked when they were babies}. What? Don’t tell me you never tried Flo Rida to make your children stop crying…?!

3. Home by Phillip Phillips.

Why I love it: Every.single.time I hear this song, I think of the Summer Olympics, which makes me think of the amazing women’s Gymnastics Team, which makes me think of the once-in-a-lifetime trip I took to San Jose to interview Shawn Johnson & cheer on the women gymnasts in the Olympic Trials.

So…I guess you could say this song brings back a few fab memories, eh?

4. Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen.

Why I love it: Can you say guilty pleasure?! Although I have two small daughters so it’s totally fine to listen to teeny-bopper music. And let’s not forget: this song is fab for spontaneous kitchen dance parties.

Sure, it lives in my head pretty much non-stop…but it could be worse. Any parent who has been forced to listen to Elmo’s Greatest Hits on an 8-hour road trip would take Carly Rae Jepsen on repeat any day of the week.

Trust me.

5. Escape by Enrique Iglesias.

Why I love it: My siblings & I totally have dance moves to this song. And I’m totally in the process of teaching them to our children. I’m quite certain they’ll thank me for my extreme coolness once they fully grasp it in their teenage years.

Also? No matter how cranky I am, Escape puts a smile on my face and a bounce in my step. I have a few dozen amazingly fun memories tied to this song, from sorority formals to weddings to road trips.

And now, I can add my children dancing up a storm to that list of fab Escape memories.

Our children really, really like to dance. Anytime, anywhere~ as evidenced by Saturday morning’s 10-minute impromptu dance party on the bridge.

The Hubs & I couldn’t stop giggling. The girls were singing a song from Doc McStuffins & absolutely breaking it down.

After a brief rest…

the girls were back in business.

Climbing, 

snacking, 

giving trees big hugga-huggas, 

and running through meadows.

I’d say it was a pretty fantastic morning, wouldn’t you?

Counting My Kisses: Watching Little O & Baby H dance on that bridge, singing & twirling without a care in the world was a yes, life is good moment. The Hubs & I try to remind ourselves to look at the world through Little O & Baby H’s eyes~ and Saturday morning, we couldn’t have been happier with what those eyes were beholding.

When’s the last time you looked at life through the eyes of a child?
