My sweet little girls:
Bit by bit, season by season, I’m trying to capture pieces of you to tuck into my heart forever.
Bright rosy cheeks in the winter, breaths puffing like tiny little clouds.
Warm sunshiney hair in the spring, faces turned up to the vast blue sky.
Summer-kissed skin with traces of grainy sand, dusty sidewalk chalk and sweet, sticky popsicles.
And windswept ponytails as you chase crunchy leaves, pick juicy apples and hug round pumpkins to your heart’s content.
You two make me wish I could freeze time. Make it stand still, even just for a few moments, so I can revel in your amazingness. In your energy. In your growing independence, at the tender ages of three, Little O, and twenty months, H-Berry.
And so I can marvel at the fact that your lives are already so intertwined, so connected, so together. Your sisterly bond has deep roots, little ones. And that is something to cherish.

It’s also important to celebrate you~ your dreams, your accomplishments, your spirit. After all, you’re pretty fantastic little people. You make your daddy & I so happy a million and two times each day.
So let’s capture a big success for you, Little O~ a great job at dance class, both with your precious ballet poses and your listening skills. I know it’s a work in progress for you, and we’re so proud that you are trying so hard!

H-Berry~ you are the best twenty-month toy picker-upper around! Today I asked you to help me clean up the blocks and you smiled & started happily tossing them into the bucket. You’re mommy’s little rockstar for so many reasons…but today I want you to know that we’re so proud of what a fantastic helper you are.

You’ll never realize just how proud you make us, for so many moments both big and small. But I hope one day when you both read this, you’ll realize that your little successes meant just as much to us as your big ones. And that your daddy & I will always be your biggest cheerleaders.
Always.
Love you to the moon and back, sweet girls.

Counting My Kisses: A special thanks to Alison at Writing Wishing, Galit at These Little Waves and Tracy at Sellabit Mum for hosting such a positive, heartfelt linkup! We’ve had a rough patch of behavior lately around here, and taking the time to focus on Little O & H-Berry’s positive accomplishments was exactly what the doctor ordered. In fact, I’m working on a way to incorporate it into our bedtime routine each night. Love, love love!!

Amy, I love this! Yes, the little successes, those small moments – they are the parts of the day, the month, the year, that fall by the wayside so easily if we don’t take time to treasure them.
Your little girls are awesome!

I love how you captured those little moments to be proud of – maybe it’s because you realize that those little moments really ARE the big moments! LOVE!

These pictures and blogs are memories your little ones will treasure forever. It is so refreshing to see you write about all the “good” involved in raising a beautiful family, as opposed to the work involved. Those of us that have raised families understand, completely, how much effort it takes to create fun-filled days when our children are young, but Oh, it is so well worth it. I so often think of the sad song, “Cats in the Cradle”, when I see and hear people complain about their family obligations, or without necessity, allow someone else to raise their children. Congratulations on a job well done.
