The essence of H-Berry {listable life}

Happy Tuesday, friends!

Isn’t it funny how sometimes a picture can capture the very essence of a person? I love that.

And for that very reason, today’s listable life topic is the bomb diggity.

The essence of H-Berry

{aka: 5 pictures that show your child’s personality}

1. Adventure girl

We knew H-Berry was a mover & a shaker from a very early age. She was crawling at 6.5 months old. Shortly after, we decided she had the moves like jagger. The nickname Dozer? A perfect fit for our constantly-on-the-move baby. And then H-Berry started walking~ and the fun really started.

These days, H-Berry is on the constant lookout for adventure. Whether she’s giving me a near heart-attack {she was this.close to climbing/falling out of her crib on Friday} or hiding in some difficult-to-locate-my-blood-pressure-is-rising-where-ARE-you spot, one thing is clear: H-Berry only stops moving when she’s sleeping. All other waking hours are fair game for adventure.

I absolutely love that about her. Sure, it’s exhausting, but it’s also refreshing: she has more energy that everyone else in our house combined. She’s willing to take on challenges~ like her tumbling class~ and work hard at them until she succeeds. Stubborn? You bet. But so determined to both follow in her big sis’s footsteps and to also carve out a path of her own.

Love that. And I love her.

2. Honey bunny

It’s the softer side of H-Berry: her honey bunny side.

When she sails into my arms when I walk through the door? I melt. When she sings “hap-py mommy hap-py mommy” to me? I want her to stay this age forever. When she snuggles into me each & every night, places her head on my shoulder and requests multiple rounds of “Up-A” {aka: twinkle, twinkle}? I close my eyes and try to seal that memory into my mind, my heart.

She’s a sweet one, that H-Berry.

3. The bottomless pit

H-Berry is a hilarious contradiction: she is such a tiny little peanut, and yet she eats all.the.time.

She takes approximately twice as long as her big sis to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. After Little O is excused from the table, you can usually find H-Berry eating off of Little O’s deserted plate. Also? “Moreeee” is one of H-Berry’s most-used words in her vocabulary.

H-Berry’s sweet little voice asks you for “snaaack! snaaack!” at least twice a day.  I’m telling you~ girlfriend loves to eat. It’s a good thing too, because her energy level burns a whole lot of calories. So eat away, our adorable little bottomless pit! That metabolism will be the envy of the neighborhood in a few short years.

4. Paging Doctor H-Berry

A staple in H-Berry’s wardrobe these days: her stethoscope. Usually the pink one, but she’ll take the blue one in a pinch, too.

Thanks to a strong love of Disney’s Doc McStuffins at this house, there are constant well-checks happening over here. Stuffed animals, humans, dogs~ you name it, H-Berry is checking it’s blood pressure & demonstrating how to say “ahh” so she can peek into its mouth.

A future doctor? Perhaps. But more importantly, I adore the empathy & kindness that Doctor H-Berry demonstrates. Plus that stethoscope looks pretty darn cute around her neck all the time!

5. The Spunky Berry

What can I say? Some kids just have spunk~ and H-Berry is definitely one of them.

She has a smile that lights up her entire face~ and she also has a mischievous grin that makes you want to hide anything breakable. Her giggles are awesomely contagious. And her hair? It has a personality of its own. I love it.

She’s a keeper, that H-Berry. A sparkling blue-eyed, sweet-smiling little girl that brings light to new corners of our life~ with a healthy dose of spunk to boot.

And I hope that never, ever changes.

Do you have a picture that captures the essence of you or one of your children? Where was it taken?

Counting My Kisses: A few months ago, I wrote a listable life post featuring Little O & all of the reasons why I love her. I’ve been waiting for the perfect opportunity to showcase Miss H-Berry~ and I’m so excited for the chance to share her essence with you today! Thanks for the fab listable life link up, Nicole and Sharon. And thank you, sweet H-Berry~ you fill each day with smiles, adventure and happiness! We love you!

That last pic of H is prolly one of the cutest pics of any little girl ever. Love it. And the Up-A reminds me of Kel when he requests Ov-A (his lullaby.) xo to your whole fam.

You’ll treasure these memories and so will she. So glad you linked up! I haven’t been by in a couple of weeks and I feel terrible! Trying to catch up to no avail these last few weeks. :-/ Glad you’re sticking around a little while longer so I can see your sweet little girl! She’s cute!
