5 wishes for our children {listable life}

Dear Little O & H-Berry,

Today’s Listable Life topic is something your Daddy & I think about all.the.time, although we rarely put it into words.

That’s what today is for.

We want you to know that from the moment we found out you were joining our family, hopes and dreams and wishes for you started forming in our minds. Just know, sweet girls, that no matter where you go and what you do in life, your Daddy & I love you and are behind you 100%. We want you to always follow your dreams, wherever they may take you.

And so, without further ado…

5 wishes we have for our children as they grow up

1. Adventure

We hope you girls always have a sense of adventure. Traveling. Trying new food. Reading books that help you grow your mind. Being adventurous helps to open your eyes to new people, fresh ideas, different cultures. Your Daddy & I already love hearing about your daily adventures~ we can’t wait to see how our little adventurers grow through the years!

2. Faith

This one is important on so many levels. Always have faith in yourself. You can rise up to any challenge & conquer it with faith. Also have faith in God, and don’t hesitate to pray for strength when you need it. Faith is something that you find deep within your heart~ make sure to always hold onto it.

3. Understand the value of hard work & money

Things are not owed to you, sweet girls. We want you to appreciate the value of hard work so that you are willing to do what you need to do to achieve your dreams. Dreams don’t happen by sitting idle…you need to be working hard on them, hour after hour, day after day. Money isn’t owed to you either~ it is earned. You’ll learn more about that when you’re older {I’m pretty sure your father has that lesson all planned out!}. 

4. Laughter

Right now, our house is filled to the brim with both of your endless giggles and contagious belly laughs. We love every minute of it~ after all, laughter is good for the soul. So is having a sense of humor~ it will take you far in life. And the phrase “laughter is the best medicine?” Sometimes it actually is, so give it a shot.

5. Love

We wish you all of the love that your heart can possibly hold in one lifetime. Hopefully you’ll experience just enough heartbreak to know when you find the real thing. You’ll know it when you do~ the heart-pounding, floating-on-air love that slips into your heart & won’t let go. We wish you lots of love & support from your family and friends throughout your entire life. And don’t forget to be gracious & grateful~ make sure to say thank you all those people who touch your lives and help to shape the women you’ll become.

Counting My Kisses: This is just the beginning of our hopes & dreams for you, Little O & H-Berry. We want you to look in the mirror each day and smile at the person you have become, and to love yourself both inside & out. We already are so proud of both of you~ and we can hardly wait to see what lovely young ladies you turn into. In the meantime though…we are adoring every minute {even the screamy ones} of your littlehood. We love you to the moon & back! Love, Mommy & Daddy
