Around the world at Epcot

Confession: I could have eaten my way through Epcot for an entire week.

The food there is so.amazingly.good.

Also? Epcot is gorgeous. This was our view after dinner on Friday night:

Love!

our game plan

Since our little ladies are still on the young side for Epcot, we didn’t plan an entire day at the park. Instead, we scheduled our Epcot visits around dinners~ ensuring that we’d have a chance to explore the Epcot grounds & sample the amazing food {but not give up precious ride time on the Teacups!}.

Win-win, right?

Right!

princesses, meet the princesses!

Our first Epcot meal was at Akershus~ aka Princess Palooza.

The girls were decked out in their Rapunzel costumes {adorbs!} and ready to meet their first batch of princesses.

We were welcomed into Akershus by Belle from Beauty & the Beast. Check out Little O’s face~ she couldn’t stop staring at Belle. Love it!

Once we were seated, the princesses each stopped by our table for an autograph, a little chat & of course, a million pictures.

And did I mention that the food at Akershus was amazingly delicious? Seriously, so yummy.

The dancing at Akershus was also super fab~ just ask the H-Berry, who was all about cutting a rug in her princess dress.

Between the food & the one-on-one time with the princesses, Akershus was a huge success for our family. I highly recommend it as a unique, family-centered dining experience~ we can’t wait to go back on our next trip!

nemo nemo nemo

The one Epcot ride that our girls couldn’t get enough of? You guessed it: Nemo. We rode it each time we were at Epcot with the girls, and it was definitely a favorite.

Little O loved the ride itself, while H-Berry was drawn more to the fish in the aquariums {what a surprise!}.

They even ventured into Bruce the Shark’s big, toothy mouth~ awesome!

date night!

The Hubs is all about trying new food, but when we’re on vacation he kicks it into overdrive.

I gave him the option of booking our date night, and he jumped at the chance to eat at Restaurant Marrakesh. Located in Morocco at Epcot’s World Showcase, we had a fun & tasty experience for dinner. From cold beer to sizzling shish kabob,  we dove into the full Moroccan experience~ and loved it!

After dinner, we met up with great college friends who were also vacationing at Disney with their family that week. We enjoyed a drink in Paris while we watched IllumiNations firework show~ so fun!

Two small children walk into a habachi grill…

Raise your hand if you love having fresh food prepared directly in front of you!

Us too~ which is why the Hubs & I adore habachi-type restaurants. There is nothing quite like watching your meal being cooked to perfection right in front of your eyes~ and then getting to dig into it while it’s still piping hot!

I must say, however, that I was nervous to bring our two small kiddos to Teppan Edo Restaurant, located in Japan in Epcot’s World Showcase. The Hubs assured me that they would love it…

and of course, he was right!

The food was amazingly fresh & hot~ and we had such fun watching our habachi chef perform while cooking our meal! I would go back to Teppan Edo in a heartbeat~ it was that tasty. And fun. And did I mention tasty?!

two yummy thumbs up

The Hubs & I are hoping that the next time we go to Disney, we’ll be able to spend even more time at Epcot since the kiddos will be older. We still feel like we got a nice overview of Epcot in~ at their ages {1.5 & 3 years old}, they really enjoyed touring through the World Showcase, a select few rides and of course, trying out all kinds of foods & desserts!

And let’s be real: the Hubs, Grammy, Grampy & I loved that too!

Counting My Kisses: Truth be told, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Epcot. I remember enjoying it when I went as a child & a teenager, but not liking it as much as Magic Kingdom. Now that I’m a travel-loving & new-food-exploring adult, Epcot was like a mini vacation within a vacation. We can’t wait to go back & explore more of the world of Epcot!

{Looking for more Disney fun? Check these posts~

and stop by next week for my final post on Hollywood Studios, swimming at the hotels & a few more tips to make your visit as smooth as possible!}.

Have a GREAT weekend! {and a BIG Happy Birthday to Lala!!}

My hubs and I love Epcot too. I think no matter how many times I go I won’t be able to sample all the food.

I love EPCOT though we haven’t been since 9/11…THE 9/11, and we were evacuated. Looking at your pics makes me want to go again, however, my kiddos are all grown. Maybe I can take the grandkids…when I have them, hopefully in the next 5 years! Visiting from SITS

We only had 1 day at Disney when we went. But I am thinking we may need to plan for a couple days next time. I’d love to do parts of Epcot — the princess dinner sounds wonderful! And I know mine would both love Nemo, too!
