Fireworks, family & fun: a few Disney highlights

We’re baaaaack!

And to quote our friend Donald Duck:

oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!

I have so much to tell you about our week at Disney! It was fantastic. It was epic. It was exhausting.

We had an absolute BLAST.

Lots of pictures, stories & tips/lessons learned are coming your way this week, so get excited! In the meantime, I thought I’d share a few of my favorite moments of our week-long stay at Disney:

1. The Good Morning welcome

Quite simply, it’s the perfect way to kick off your Disney vacation. Each morning, the Magic Kingdom puts on a short Good Morning show welcoming everyone to the park.

The Mayor of Disney gives a sweet little speech, there is a super catchy song & dance {the “Good Morning” song is STILL in my head!}, and then the Disney train comes rolling in with small army of characters aboard, waving & blowing kisses to the crowd.

I may or may not have gotten teary both times we saw the show during our week at the Happiest Place on Earth.

And let’s be real: when your child has an expression like this on her face, how can your heart not leap for joy just a little bit?

Love!

2. Wishes fireworks

The Hubs & I debated keeping the girls awake for the 9pm Wishes fireworks show at Magic Kingdom, and we ultimately decided to go for it.

Best.decision.ever!

In typical Disney fashion, the fireworks were spectacular. I’ll never forget the looks on the girls faces as the fireworks soared through the warm night sky.

It was magical, plain & simple.

3. Princess-palooza

So much of our trip revolved around the Disney Princesses that it requires a post of its own! Stay tuned for that later on this week.

In the meantime, I will say this: our first princess encounter was at Akershus in Epcot, and it was all sorts of magical. Check out the grin on Little O’s face as she met one of her absolute faves, Ariel.

That, my friends, is pure joy.

4. Tinkerbell

The H-Berry was a bit shy with all of our character meet-and-greets, hanging back & letting Little O take the lead {especially on the big animal characters}.

Then came Tinkerbell.

H-Berry launched herself into Tink’s arms as soon as it was our turn. Hard to say who was more stunned, Tink or the Hubs & I!

We couldn’t get enough of H-Berry’s ear-to-ear smile while talking to Tink. Even better? H-Berry proudly cheering “Tink! Tink! Tink!” the rest of the day.

Adorbs!

5. Family time

Our little family has had quite the busy summer. It was so much fun to get away for a week & just be together, making memories at a truly magical place.

We have a zillion fantastic memories that are tucked away in our hearts, and a few memories that I know will make us laugh in the weeks & years to come {more on those memories later in this week!}.

Love, love love!

Counting My Kisses: I could have made a list of my top 50 moments from our trip, I have that many happy thoughts swirling around in my head! We were blessed with great weather, healthy kids, and a family who loves spending time together. Every moment wasn’t perfect, but it was a fantastic experience for our family. More to come tomorrow, I can’t wait to share. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!

OMG I did not know they did that at the opening of the Magic Kingdom, I have never been there for the opening. We are headed there at the end of October and this is now at the top of my must see list. I can’t wait to hear about the rest of your trip!

Julia~ OMG you MUST go to the Magic Kingdom opening. It is so SO cute/adorable/memorable! If the park opens by 9, make sure you are through security & the ticketing area by 8:45 so you’re ready for the show! I can’t wait to hear how you guys like it!

Visiting from SITS Holiday Card hop. We are surprising our 3 girls with a trip to Disney right after Christmas and your posts on Disney have been very helpful. I’m in the process of sewing shirts, making a countdown and an autograph book myself. I’m your newest follower :) Merry Christmas!!
