Hoping

Excited. Anxious. Hopeful. Slightly overwhelmed.

This is how I feel about our week-long vacation at Disney World.

By the time you’re reading this, we’ll be on Day Six at Disney. Hopefully you didn’t miss a beat & notice that I was gone this week~ I worked ahead to get my posts written so I could take a full week off & just soak up my sweet little family.

And hopefully, when you read this, we’ll be wrapping up our best family vacation to date.

It’s a gamble, though, isn’t it? Vacationing with little ones is so.much.work.

We’ve been mentally & physically preparing for this trip for months. I’ve read every book I can about Disney with small kiddos, packed every item that could possibly make the trip go smoother. We created a fun, engaging way to tell the girls about the trip. We’ve been watching Disney movies, learning about characters and talking non-stop about what we’ll see there.

But preparation will only get you so far. You have to take into account the Wild Card factor, which can turn your vacation upside down. You know the drill: the kids not sleeping well in the hotel. Someone gets sick. Everyone gets cranky or overtired or overheated or just plain over-vacationed.

This trip means a lot to the Hubs & I. We’ve been carefully planning it for months & months. The best hotel for small kids, the flight times that worked with our schedules, the endless dining reservations & character meal research & ride research & park crowd calendars & trust me, the list goes on and on and on.

I’m hoping when we arrive at Disney, Little O & H-Berry’s wonder-filled faces will make the Hubs & I smile at each other with a knowing nod. Totally worth it, our eyes will say. Hopefully.

I’m hoping we can keep the meltdowns to a minimum, although we’re realistic that they will happen.

I’m hoping we can keep the girls on their nap schedule so they can be rested & enjoy all of the fun things we have planned.

I’m hoping the girls always remember bits & pieces of this trip. And that it’s just as magical for them as it was for the Hubs & I during our first childhood trips to Disney with our families.

I’m hoping the girls will look at our photo albums through the years and think, that was such a cool trip, mom & dad really made it special for us. Because that is exactly what the Hubs & I think when we look at our family photo albums from many, many moons ago.

So, lots of hoping going on over here. I’m also hoping that you have a GREAT weekend, and that you stop by next week to hear all about our Disney adventures~ I can’t wait to share it with you!

Counting My Kisses: I’m so excited for this trip & to enjoy an entire week with our family. What a blessing! We’re hoping for happy, healthy kids, parents & grandparents, and lots of wonderful memories to be made. Have a super fab weekend!

I am sure they will love it.
Try to relax and enjoy the moment with your little ones. I KNOW how stressful it can be to plan a vacation like that with little ones, all the planning, the worry about nap times, etc.
