It’s Little O & H-Berry’s favorite time of day: the post-nap snack.
It’s also this momma’s least favorite time of the day.
The dilemma: what to feed my little monkeys so they stay happy until dinner, but aren’t too full to still eat their dinner? It’s a tricky balance.
That is, until my fantastic new discovery: Glad Food Storage containers.
Say hello to the hero who solved my snacktime conundrum!

It’s true, friends.
The Glad Food Storage containers have changed our after-nap routine for the better. And have even made me feel slightly brilliant in the process.

And it’s simple. A tiny bit of prep work before getting the girls up from their naps, and volia! Happy snacking kiddos.
Ready for my stroke of brilliance?
I’ve started creating mini-snack kits for the girls each day, paying close attention to the amount of food I put in each Glad Food Storage container. The girls get a tasty, healthy snack, and I get kiddos who haven’t just somehow consumed 4 cups of cheddar goldfish in one sitting.
Win-win, I tell you.

The girls are thrilled with their mini-snack kits. No snatching food from each other, no whining about who got the bigger box of raisins~ just complete & utter snack time bliss.
And that makes this momma super happy.
The best part? The girls don’t realize they are munching on healthy fruits & veggies & dips. Plus, they can’t wait to see what snack surprise is in their kit each day!

The mini-snack kits are awesome~ perfect to send to school for snacktime & for after-school snacks as well. After all, what kiddo wouldn’t love to come home to this tasty setup on their kitchen table?

Yum. Me too!
Mini-Snack Kit Ideas
Need a little inspiration to get started? I’ve got you covered!

~ Slice up fresh fruit, such as cantelopue {a crowd fave at our house} and put it into Glad Food Storage containers. Presto! Fresh fruit for your loves.
~ Bake a quick batch of pita crisps~ our entire family adores them. Perfectly crunchy, a little salty~ they taste great with everything!
~ Chex mix is a huge favorite at our house. Store it in a variety of Glad Food Storage containers so there is a perfect-sized snack ready for every member of the family!

~ Apple slices with a side of peanut butter. Our girls love apples and love dipping, so this snack is a big winner around here!
~ If your kiddos are veggie lovers, slice up a red pepper or cucumber and serve it with hummus. We’ve found our girls will eat almost anything if there is hummus involved!
