Workin’ at the car wash!

Fun little fact about the Hubs:

He adores washing cars.

This particular hobby has been known to drive me a tiny bit crazy on occasion {his exact methodology of car washing, that is. I sure won’t complain about driving around a clean, shiny car!}.

So you can imagine my hesitation on Sunday morning when the Hubs suggested that he break out his car-washing kit.

“Ehh…I don’t know,” I hedged. “It always takes forever…”

“It will be fun!” the Hubs replied with an easy grin. “Little O, H-Berry, want to help Daddy wash his car??”

And that, my friends, was that. Outvoted 3-1.

So I did the only thing that made sense: I grabbed my camera & pulled up a chair.

The result?

A lot of giggles, a ton of bubbles, and two extremely happy, extremely wet children.

First things first: we located rags for the girls so they could help Daddy scrub-a-dub the Corolla.

And scrub-a-dub they did, my friends.

Hard to say what they loved more: the endless supply of bubbles, getting as wet as they wanted, or being Daddy’s little helpers.

They scrubbed & scrubbed with their rags {or their “tablecloths,” as Little O insisted on calling them {no idea?}}…

until Little O decided to give it a little extra elbow grease with her bare hands.

Naturally: monkey see, monkey do.

Good times.

Once it was finally determined that the rags, in fact, were more useful for sloshing around the bubbles, the girls were full-steam ahead on this car washing gig.

They splashed and sloshed and scrubbed and splashed some more.

And as I sat there & watched them giggle and “help” their daddy, I couldn’t help but think:

1. This is awesomely adorable.

2. This has kept them entertained for the past 25 minutes.

and 3. I’ll never forget they joy on each of their faces.

All three of my loves were having a blast.

Of course, it was all fun & games until Little O got a hold of the hose…

and that, my friends, was our cue to end the Car Wash Extravaganza.

But let me tell you…

the next time the Hubs suggests washing the cars, he & his sweet car washing buddies have my seal of approval. Two thumbs way up from this momma!

Counting My Kisses: Sunday’s Car Wash Extravaganza was both fun & adorable to watch. It also was one of those duh parenting moments~ our little ones love doing chores with us, why don’t we let them do it more often?! The car wash was a great reminder to include the girls in more of our daily chores, since they are such fabulously enthusiastic participants {can that continue into their teenage years, please?!}.

Do your kiddos like doing chores with you?

Have a great day!
