BIG news!

So…I have news, friends.

Big news.

Gigantic news.

Ready for it?

This girl…

is heading to California on Wednesday!

And what, you might ask, am I doing on my trip to California?

Oh, just the coolest thing EVER.

Like attending the men & women’s US Gymnastics Olympic Trials and interviewing Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson one-on-one.

It’s kind of a REALLY big deal. And I’m really, REALLY excited!

{I’m doing a full-fledge happy dance over here!! Care to join?!}.

I’m thrilled to be representing the fabulous SITS Girls as part of the P&G Thank You Mom campaign at the US Olympic Trials in San Jose, California.

Are you familiar with the Thank You Mom campaign? I heart it. You can check out one of my favorite videos from the campaign here…it brings a little tear to my eye, especially as the momma of a little girl who is just starting sports.

Love!

And so my friends, before I bounce off the wall in excitement, I need your help:

If you could ask Olympic all-star {3 silver medals, 1 gold medal} and Dancing with the Stars champion Shawn Johnson any question in the world, what would it be?

Share in the comments section below & I’ll do my best to include it in my interview!

Of course, I’ll have plenty of awesome photos & experiences to share with you, so stay tuned to the blog.

I’ll also be tweeting & Facebooking in real time about my amazing experiences, so make sure you’re following me on FacebookTwitter and Instagram {username: amy_CountingMyKisses} as well as the SITS Girls on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram {username: SITSGirls}.

And now, my friends, I’m off to pack. And jump around the room in excitement a little bit more.

Because this is pretty much the coolest thing ever. I can’t wait!

Counting My Kisses: What an EXPERIENCE! I can’t believe I’m headed to San Jose tomorrow~ talk about a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I’m so thankful to the SITS Girls and P&G for giving me this amazing, incredible experience. I can’t wait to share it all with you!

That’s so exciting!! I’m thrilled for you!

I would ask her what she likes most about herself. Too many women focus on what they don’t like about themselves. A positive spin on that would be a good example to little girls.

So proud of you, Am! I am so super excited for you!!

I would ask Shawn Johnson is now that she is retired from gymnastics, what does she plan on doing in the future? Any other dreams/goals she would like to achieve?

[Reply]

SO COOL! I would ask her what she wants to do after her gymnastics career is over.

Ams === so very excited for you and this opportunity. I love that commercial too == every time I watch the Olympics, I think of all the sacrifice and time and money it takes to get a child there. I think it is more a reflection of the mom and dad than it is for the Olympian. Alot like raising a child == lots of time, discipline, fun times and tears to get a kiddo raised. As any parent will tell you, it is worth every minute.

I would ask Shawn Johnson “What experience in her life did she have to miss that meant the most to her??”

So proud of this really cool experience for you Amy. Cannot wait to hear all about it.

Dear Amy:

To say I am so proud of you would be an understatement! You are an amazing young woman, mom, wife, daughter and, of course, niece! My heart is full for you and I hope you have a fantastic time at Olympic trials!

What would I ask Shaun Johnson? Hmmm, I’d ask what is her very best “Aha” moment…the one that stands above all others. I’m sure she has lots of incredible moments, but if she had to pick only one, what would it be?

Love to you, D, Little O & Baby H! Congratulations, Amy…go rock it!!! I know you will!! Love, your Aunt Patty!

I love the previous idea to ask her what she likes about herself. I might ask “how are you like your mom?”

I so love Shawn Johnson! Have a wonderful time and trip!

SO EXCITING AMY!

I was watching the Diving Olympic Trials this week and many of the divers used to be gymnasts until they get hurt, I’m wondering if Shawn would ever pick another sport like diving to pursue for the Olympics?

Woo hoo! Have a blast! Safe travels and I cannot wait to read/see all about your experience. :)

Congrats on a fabulous opportunity!!
Maybe you could ask how he mother supported her dreams and how she would encourage a daughter who was interested in pursuing a competitive sport. If she was to go back to her childhood is there anything she would do differently or would not change in regards to how her training affected her life.
Can’t waits to hear about your trip!

Am- SOOOOOOO proud of you! Have an amazing trip! I think I would ask her if we could set her up with a nice boy from Wisconsin (hee hee hee!). And for real- maybe ask her if she has children- would she encourage them to be an athlete and strive for the Olympics?

I am so excited for you! I will be following your tweets!
