Hi, friends!
How was your weekend? Ours was delightful. Lots of playing and giggling, trips to the local ice cream stand, and a super fab dinner with lovely friends. We’re certainly welcoming summer with open arms over here!
The only downside? Poor Hubs is swamped with a project at work right now, so the girls & I are running solo these days. Saturday included a trip to the park & the grocery with my cuties in tow…

but Sunday? I was at a total loss at how to entertain my children.
Then it hit me: time for a little adventure.
I packed up some beach toys, snacks, extra clothing layers & off we went to the lake.
Turns out we were the only people in town with this idea, since it was a very breezy 68 degrees outside. The lifeguards had hoodies on, friends. It was a tidge chilly.
But…we had the place to ourselves! {Can you tell Little O was excited?!}

And boy oh boy, did we have a ball.

Surprisingly, the water was really warm {and super shallow~ woo!}, so the girls loved wading around. Well, Baby H waded…Little O splashed & danced & excitedly told the lifeguard & I that there was a SEA LION swimming in the lake {in reality, just a lady swimming laps in a wet suit…but you get points for creativity, Little O!}.
There is something so free & exhilarating about being somewhere all.by.yourself. The girls were soaking it up, and so was I. Lots & lots of space to play and be silly and just enjoy being outside.

And really…
is there anything better than hanging with your sister, without a care in the world, on a sunny day at the beach?

Pretty sure those kind of days take the cake.
Counting My Kisses: The only thing that would have made our beach trip even more enjoyable? The Hubs, of course! Hopefully next time he’ll be able to join us. I’m so happy the girls had such a blast, and I know I’m always going to remember the day of our little beach adventure~ what a fun way to kick off our swimming season. Hope your weekend was all sorts of wonderful too!

Thanks Missy! It was just a crazy little idea that turned into an AWESOME way to spend the day!
Gotta love it when that happens, right?!

Beautiful pictures. A trip to the beach always makes a young child forget about everything else and just enjoy life. That also helps an overloaded, frustrated Mommy. Good for you for making little O’s and little H’s days special, on a regular basis. Many a day was spend doing just that.

Aunt Diann~ you are exactly right, beaches tend to have that magical effect on children {and adults!}. It was good for ALL of us to get out & about!
