May has been the Month of Flowers at our house {well, that and the Month of Little O’s birthday!}. The girls are enthralled with all things flowers~ planting them, watering them, sniffing them & of course, picking them.
Little O wanted to share some gardening tips with you, now that she has hit the wise old age of 3.
First, the basics.

It’s all so simple when explained by a 3-year-old, isn’t it?
Now that we’ve covered the essentials, you’re ready for the next step: having fun in the garden.
We headed over to Grammy & Grampy’s for this part of our adventure, since they have a great fenced-off garden that is just perfect for little hands & feet.
Little O & Baby H were excited to find plant markers with their initials on them~ such a cute idea! Later on in the summer, they’ll be able to tell who planted what.

The girls quickly got down to business…Little O with the planting, Baby H with the making a fabulously muddy mess.

{Sidenote: the Hubs & I are going to start calling Baby H the Tough Mudder Baby. Fitting, don’t you think? She has the I-will-bulldoze-you stare down pat!}.

It was so much fun to watch the girls squeal with delight as they watered, planted & played in the garden~ they had an absolute ball. I can’t wait to see their faces when the sunflowers they planted begin to bloom: complete & total joy {kind of like how they look now!}.

And this picture?
It’s going to be forever imprinted on my heart.

Love, love love.
Counting My Kisses: Sure, it was a little messy. Yup, both kiddos needed to be hosed off before we could bring them inside {or in Baby H’s case, multiple hose-offs}. But there is nothing better than watching your kids learning & exploring while they play. No batteries required. No singing, dancing toys. Just little hands, muddy feet and watering cans. And of course, bright eyes & ear-splitting grins. It’s a sure-fire recipe for a winning garden adventure~ give it a try!

My kids love gardening, planting the seeds, getting messy and then harvesting our produce & rapidly consuming them! It’s wonderful to show them that our food comes from the earth not just the grocery store!

Laura~ yes! I’m excited for the girls to see & enjoy what we planted this year, I think Little O is going to be really excited about eating something she grew from the earth! Thanks so much for stopping by.
